How many Dio Nodes can link together at once?

There is no limit. Place as many speakers as you want wherever you want in your home. After that, just pick and choose which ones you want to play from at any time. It's that simple.

Can Dio Node do any smart home stuff?

Yes, but it's completely optional! You have the option to set up Dio Node on the Apple Home app to unlock additional features. This includes using Siri to control your speakers, creating speaker group presets, setting up home automations for your speakers, and more.

Can I add more Dio Nodes to my home after my initial order?

Absolutely! Dio is a completely modular system. You can add more Nodes to your home whenever you want to.

Will Dio Node support Android in the future?

Dio Node was initially designed for iOS because it allows a completely versatile experience to listen to any audio app on any number of speakers straight from the iOS Control Center, without ever having to download an extra app to control the speakers. Due to some limitations with the Android OS, only a limited experience is currently available on Android. Spotify Connect support is also in development, which will allow Spotify Premium users to cast audio directly from the Spotify app to the speakers, including from Android devices.

Can I connect Dio Node to my TV?

Dio Node doesn't work with TVs directly, but it does work with Apple TV Generation 4 and later. The best way to check if your Apple TV is compatible is by going to its settings and checking the software version. If it has tvOS 11.4 or later, then you're good to go!

Does Dio Node have a battery? Is it portable?

Like other smart speakers and Wi-Fi speakers, Dio Node does not have a battery and is not portable. Dio Node was created so that you wouldn't have to charge or carry around extra devices in order to listen to your audio. With Dio, you have the freedom to listen across your entire home without a second thought. Router Guidelines for Dio Node and Apple AirPlay

If your Dio speakers are dropping connection or not appearing in your AirPlay list, your Wi-Fi router settings may not be optimized for Apple’s protocol. Use this guide to adjust your network configuration for the most stable streaming experience.

General Guidance (All Routers)

Ensure these universal settings are applied to your network. If any setting is not available on your router, you may skip that step:

Disable "Private Wi-Fi Address": On your iPhone or other Apple device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the "i" next to your network, and toggle this setting off. (Recommended for private or home networks only).
Avoid Double NAT: If using a mesh system (e.g., Google, eero) with an ISP-provided router, place your ISP's modem/router in Bridge Mode.
Static IP: In your router settings, assign an "IP Reservation" or "Static IP Address" to your speakers.
Enable IGMP / IGMP Snooping: Should be toggled ON in your router settings.
Enable UPnP: Should be toggled ON in your router settings.
Disable AP Isolation: Should be toggled OFF in your router settings. On some routers, this is called "Client Isolation".
Enable Bonjour: Should be toggled ON in your router settings. On some routers, this is called "ZeroConf Discovery" or "mDNS."
IPv6: If connectivity remains unstable, try disabling IPv6 and using IPv4 only.

Note: If you use managed switches or additional access points, ensure they follow these same suggestions.

Disable IPv6
Change DNS: Change the DNS server from the ISP Default to Google’s (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).
Disable "Block WAN Ping" (or allow "Response to Ping Request from WAN" on newer routers).
Enable "IPv4 Multicast Route" (newer routers).
Enable "IGMP" and "IGMP/MLD Snooping" (newer routers).

TP-Link

Enable IGMP Snooping: (Typically found under Network > IPTV or Advanced > Network > LAN).
Enable UPnP: (Found under Advanced > NAT Forwarding > UPnP).
Omada Users: If using Omada Access Points with multiple networks, ensure an mDNS rule is created in your Services settings to allow AirPlay discovery across access points.

Ubiquiti UniFi

Change the following settings from their default to:

WiFi: Disable "Band Steering"
Network: Enable "IGMP Snooping"
Internet: Enable "UPnP"

Confirm the following settings:

WiFi: "Multicast Management" should be enabled
WiFi: "Multicast and Broadcast Control" should be disabled
WiFi: "Client Device Isolation" should be disabled
