We suggest customers to follow the instructions below when streaming music over Wi-Fi. Some of the router settings impacts device discovery and playback performance.
- On your Apple source device (iPhone, iPad, etc.), disable "Private Wi-Fi Network" (only recommended for private or home Wi-Fi networks).
- Avoid Double NAT when using 3rd party router/mesh system by placing the ISP router in “Bridge Mode” (e.g. Google, eero)
- Ensure the speakers have a Static IP reservation.
- Enable “UPnP” (Universal Plug and Play)
- Enable “IGMP” or "IGMP Snooping" (Internet Group Management Protocol)
- When using access points, disable “AP Isolation” or “Client Isolation”
- Enable “Multicasting” (multicast terminology differs between router companies)
- When using Apple devices, enable “Bonjour” or “ZeroConf Discovery”
- Disable “IPv6” and only use “IPv4” (if possible)
Note: Ensure managed switches and access point controllers follow the same network suggestions as detailed above
