How to Factory Reset Your Dio Node

A factory reset will completely clear all settings from your Dio Node and return it to its original factory condition. This process is usually only necessary if you are passing the speaker to a new owner or troubleshooting persistent technical issues.

These steps will need to be completed on each Dio Node that you want to reset.

How to Factory Reset

  1. Press and hold the (+) and Middle buttons on your Dio Node simultaneously. Release both buttons once the indicator light flashes multiple colors.
  2. The indicator light will blink white while the Dio Node resets itself. This process can take up to 15 minutes to complete.
  3. Once the speaker begins blinking red, the reset is complete and the speaker is now ready to be set up on a Wi-Fi network again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it okay to unplug the speaker during a reset?

Yes, unplugging the speaker should cause no harm, though it may result in the device failing to complete the reset process. If you plug the speaker back in and it automatically rejoins its previous Wi-Fi network (indicated by a steady light rather than a blinking red light), the reset was unsuccessful and will need to be performed again.

When should I reset my speaker?

While a factory reset is harmless, we generally only recommend it if you are giving the speaker to a new owner or if you are experiencing significant issues that other troubleshooting steps haven't resolved.

I just moved to a new home. Do I need to reset my speakers?

A factory reset is not required when moving homes. If you brought your old Wi-Fi router with you and have the same network name and password, the speakers will automatically rejoin the network at your new house. If you have a different Wi-Fi network, you can perform a Wi-Fi Reset to set up your speakers on your new network.

Will doing a factory reset revert back to a previous firmware version?

No, a factory reset will not revert or roll-back the firmware version of the speaker. It will simply reset the speaker to an "as-new" state with the current firmware version.
