If you want to update how your speaker appears in your AirPlay list (for example, changing "Office" to "Kitchen"), you will need to re-trigger the Wi-Fi setup process.
Note: If you added your Dio Node to your Apple Home app, you can easily rename the speaker directly from the app.
How to Rename Your Speaker
- Press and hold the (+) and (-) buttons on your Dio Node simultaneously. Release both buttons once the indicator light flashes multiple colors.
- The indicator light will blink red. This indicates the speaker is ready for setup.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app and tap Wi-Fi.
- Under the section labeled "SET UP NEW AIRPLAY SPEAKER...", select your Dio Node and follow the on-screen prompts to connect it to your network and enter your new speaker name.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I set up my speakers using an Android or Windows device?
While Dio Node was natively designed for Apple AirPlay, please contact our support team for specific Wi-Fi setup instructions regarding non-Apple devices.
My speaker isn't appearing in the Wi-Fi settings. What should I do?
Please wait up to 5 minutes, as this issue is usually caused by a delay in iOS detecting your speaker. If the speaker still does not appear after that time, follow the instructions in this guide.
Will renaming my speaker affect my current AirPlay groups?
Renaming your speaker simply updates its label. You may need to briefly re-select the speaker in your AirPlay menu under its new name, but it will continue to function seamlessly with any other Dio Nodes in your home.
